Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

A Gallon A Day

A Gallon A Day

How much should the average person drink in a day?

If you have a slightly active indoor job the minimum amount of water you should consume in one day, is sixty ounces. If you have a very busy or outdoor job, that amount should be doubled to keep up with the rotation of the amount of sweat you are producing and the amount of water intake.

What are the health benefits of water?

Pure hydration can only be obtained by drinking a significant amount of water daily. Your skin is your largest organ, and when you guzzle water, you flush out bodily toxins and speed up the cell rejuvenation of your tissue. You create supple more elastic skin when you drink + you are sustaining your skin's natural hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid can replenish the moisture that aging skin is lacking and improve the appearance of fine lines to make the skin look appear smoother.

What type of water should I drink?

Natural, clean, ordinary water is good. Fruit infused water is better. You are giving your body vitamin benefits, and that is always a good idea if you are going to drink large portions anyway. If you do not have the time to buy, prepare, and infuse water overnight, Alkaline water is the best option for you. Alkaline water restores the body's pH balance by reducing acidity levels. It contains higher concentrations of Alkaline minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which are vital to human health. It also eliminates mucus build-up on colon walls, thus improving the body’s ability to absorb essential nutrients. Alkaline water contributes to flushing out acidic waste and toxins that have accumulated in the body over time.

The process:

My regular drink consumption is mainly water, and I drink at least one cup of coffee or caffeinated tea a day. Occasionally, I will drink juice or lemonade, but I do not consume dark sodas. I drank four liters of Alkaline water each day for thirty days. Two bottles in the morning and two bottles in the afternoon. I did not drink anything after 9:00 pm.

The result:

Obviously, I had to skip on over to the bathroom more than I usually did. Every time I had a moment to take a breath and think about my next step for the day, I found myself reaching for my bottle. My skin was more clear than it has ever been in my entire adult life, and I found it was easier to fall asleep at night and wake up refreshed. When the body is constantly being flushed of toxins like it was this month, I just felt better and more conscious of my food habits as well. I did not consume a lot of sugar or salt because I did not want to retain fluid or feel bloated. I took more consideration into my diet, and I actually found myself making/buying more fruit smoothies throughout the month, so I was unconsciously drinking my meals daily.

I'm devastated I did not think to capture any before and after pictures for this post. I'm kicking myself over the fact, I did not take a selfie prior to this thirty-day challenge, but my overall skin complexion and texture has completely changed. For the person on the go, a gallon a day might seem completely unobtainable. That does not have to be the case; I recommend being cautious of your water ratio versus the other drinks you consume throughout the day. Temperatures are changing, and it is essential to get at least sixty ounces a day starting with sixteen ounces as soon as you wake up. Drink up to not only look great but to feel great.
