Five Ways To Go Green

Five Ways To Go Green

Have you ever stopped to think about all of the to-go boxes, plastic bags, and trash we accumulate? If you are anything like me, Chinese takeout can fill up your refrigerator + trashcan in one lazy weekend! There are so many little things we can do to make our planet green again. I have five tips on how to live a guilt-free life and cut back on waste.

- Reusable Cups

It is so easy to find adorable reusable cups! Hello, Etsy? The possibilities are endless for personalized coffee tumblers and water bottles. Customized containers make excellent gifts for a friend or even yourself! You can display your artsy side without even saying a word, and before you know it, you'll be beaming with Earth-saving pride!

- Shop Smart

Real talk, we do whatever it takes to make one trip from the car to our kitchen with the groceries, don't we? We will hang bags from our shoulders all the way down to our wrists grunting like the Hulk before we ever make a second trip. There is a more natural way to do this folks; recyclable grocery bags. Recyclable bags are such a smart move; they are a one-time purchase and think of all the plastic bags you're not wadding up and tossing underneath your kitchen sink! Invest people.

I mean really, it doesn’t get any better than this!

- Meal Prep

If you're new to the Just Aneissa blog, let me remind you, there is an incredible collaboration I was a part of with the meal a prepping queen, JJ Wilburn. She explained the various types of meal prepping, meal prepping techniques, and how to not only save the environment from to-go boxes but how to save money in your pocket! It truly is an exciting concept. I consumed an entire week's work of healthy meals for only $12.93. I'll add the link here if you want to jump over to that article.

-Ditching Single-Use Plastics

Just like plastic bags, straws, lids, and containers all have the potential to be harmful to the environment. You can invest in linen napkins. Saying goodbye to single-use plastic straws means saying hello to chic metal (or biodegradable pasta) straws! Picture this: you blend your morning smoothie, mason jar + metal straw. Totally Instgramable, right? Adorable and you are saving the world, yes, please! Amazon has a great selection of metal and pasta straws.

-Purge With Intention

Old papers, damaged plastic, and things we just don't even use accumulate over time. Before you know it, you're hoarding things you do not need. Everything has a proper place, and if you are not purchasing biodegradable items, take adequate care in disposing of your things! Recycle your paper + plastics according. Organizing is fun and organizing with good environmental intent is even better! So take care of yourself, take care of others, and take care of our planet! Let's leave the Earth better than we found it.
